Great Gray Owl!
I went for a drive to Whiteshell Provincial Park today and found my first Great Gray Owl! I saw it near Caddy Lake, hunting by the edge of the road. They're so big and yet so graceful when they fly; it's amazing how a bird like that can navigate the dense forest effectively. Another really neat sighting from the drive was a couple wolves which were hanging out by the highway! This was the first time I've ever seen wolves, and they're pretty rare to see in general so I thought it was worth mentioning that I saw some.
