Hello from Populous Lake!

Hello! Right now I (J) am at Populous Lake near Kenora in Ontario! I am here on a fishing trip with my dad and another friend. We hope to have a good time and lots of good birding and fishing experiences. Stay tuned for a post when we return early next week!

Spring Birding???

Lots of birds and... snow? Lots of it as well as wind. We had a little warbler fall-out yesterday as they were caught in the storm. We had American Redstarts, Wilson's Warblers, Magnolia Warblers, Yellow-Rumped Warblers, Pine Warblers, and the highlight, a Blackburnian Warbler. No pictures were taken though as we were in a rush to get to our morning church service. You may also see feeders on the ground even a trampoline in the field from a kilometre away!

P.S. Can someone identify that bird below for me? I am stumped! I know it is not Vesper Sparrow.

What bird is it? By the way notice the grass bending in the wind.

Feeder on the wrong hook. Notice also the slant of the shepherd's hook.

Tray feeder fell of the hook altogether.

JC Birds Update

Hello all you out there! It has been a daunting task to supply you with bird of the DAY! It is to my relief/regret to announce that I will no longer be doing B.O.T.D. Instead, I will make three posts a week. On most Mondays there will be a "Closeup Monday" in which I will post some of the week's best photos. On Wednesday, there will still be W.W.B.W. Finally, on Friday, there will be "Feathers on Friday." In which we will post some photos of the bird activity around our home. Instead of Bird of the Day there will be "Bird of the Week" in the side instead of the photo contest. Thank you/Sorry.
